Definite improvements.

I remember the first time you submitted Mcfrog's dance on NG. I'd made a comment on the need for a storyline or at least plot and you'd responded with the concern you didn't know how to come up with one. My advice to you is this. Think of a simple situation and then go from there. You've got the talent to do whatever you want so be creative. McFrog seems indestructible, and yet a nice, but clumsy guy. Go with that! Say, have him try to ask out that girl from before the building jump scene. Gets grabbed my king kong sized panda (since you incorporated one into this film)....get the picture. Look forward to seeing where you take this.

KINGOFAUSTRALIA responds:

Finally! a constructive review okay the next one will have a storyline i'll use the one you thought up ( you'll be in the credits )
Thanks for the 8!

plenty of but's on this one

it's nicely drawn, well crafted and all...but it's plotless and pointless.

WADEMACHINE responds:

thanks im not too good at story writing but that wasn't an attempt that was just some animation in future i will try and make something with a plot but for now that's all thanks for the review

AWESOME!

Best ever Knox! Not only facing Beebo against neurotically yours, but having germaine perform the Walls of Jericho? Genius!

Knox responds:

woo! WWE,haha

This is art

Avante garde, not quite unlike the work of phantasmagora or Oz Thomas. Very well done, perfectly unbiased towards philosophy and religion. This can seem extremely personal, but again it is obviously untainted by your own ideology. It is, for the lack of a better word, subtle in its means of appealing to no one group or concept. Anyone can apply what you discuss through any lense he or she calls their "faith."
Brilliant, I tip my hat to you. Wonderful rhetoric.

Gusto responds:

Pleased you found it unbiased. A very complimentary review.

Many thanks to you kind sir, reviews like this make it worthwhile :)

Spellbinding, A tribute to the classics

I won't bother mentioning Sergio Leone, most everyone on NewGrounds won't know who that is. But none the less, this is a brilliant adaptation of the old spagehtti western not only into the future, but into flash as well. You certainly captured the essence of the genre. Brilliant.

poxpower responds:

there's alwaus people to cheer you up when making blunders.

I love you sir.

Actually..

Actually the AK47 (or Avtomat Kalashnikova model 1947) is popular for more reasons than it being "cheap."
Yes it it is true that the AK assualt rifle is very inexpensive to produce and buy. However this comes from the fact that it is made from stamped steel and requires few moving parts. In all one can produce as much as 400 times the number of guns than any other variety of automatic rifle.
Popularity also based in "response" or how well the gun performs. For a "buzz" gun (this comes from the sound of the gun set at full auto) the Kalashnikovs are surprising accurate. even though it is chamber in the 5.56 NATO (or .223) the AK makes the most of this miniscule round by grouping shots at .5 inches at 150 yards, the m-16/AR-15/M-4 without extreme custom work can only come close to 2.5 inches. Which brings me to another point, reliability.
The AK is also known for extreme durability. The American equivalent, the Colt M-16 (and similar copies) is by far the worst in this category. Much to the dismay of our officers, during Viet Nam (and even today's current Iraq skirmish) our soldiers had a tendancy of using the Viet Kong's AKs. This is not to say that our own arms are inferior, but the AK's reliability (i.e. it won't jam every other shot) is unmatched.
I've shot a number of both styles of guns (AR vs AK) and will gladly choose a custom built DPMS m-16 or any AK copy, but for off the production line, I'll stick with the Ak.

Nextrol responds:

Wow! Thanks for this enlightening review! From what I've heard and read about it all the way up to your review, I've always came to believe that the AK was a well rounded weapon. But, I'm over-joyed to hear an opinnion about the gun from someone who as actually used one! Thank you so much for this review! Cheers.

well

the first two installments were very well done. Now you're trying to get too indpeth with the story. the little stickman radio relay was over done and too fucking long. keep to the basics, don't try to get too narrow a theme. Oh and as a hint? A magnum research desert eagle doesn't have a conventional slide. the barrel is fixed, the back end actually is the breach. If your gonna trysomething more detailed, stick to the original story and emphasize your animation.get it? got it? good.

Andy-Parker responds:

ok, first of all the bit with the two sticks was there because it filled in the gaps a little. (Although i probably didnt need it). Also with the Deagle, im not a gun expert, im probably the opposite.
Anyway, this review did help me so thank you.

Brilliance!

Pure Genius! This is quality above all and else. A tale that one would have expected from Virgil, Homer, or Sophocles. beautiful dramatic monologue. If you get the chance, check out my profile and drop me a line. I'm going to go watch the rest of your films. Awe inspiring stuff man.

Virgilcomic responds:

Virgil is my hero. You don't leave an e-mail address, so I guess I'll just have to contact ya telepathically. Or email me if ya want. ozjthomas@hotmail.com

Welcome back

An excellent post for your triumphant return. Great to see you back on the portal Maverick. Great idea, despite assholes who don't read your description and slam you for the Capn' N similarities. I for one will admit to having missed your presence on the portal. Any ties in this series to your other films? Perhaps instead of the Mother Brain figure of Captain N, use your skills and maybe make Revolver Ocelot the main villian? Looking forward to more good things from you. Welcome back bro.

MetalMaverick responds:

Good to be back.
Actually, Mother Brain won't be the villian of this series. I'm not even sure if she'll make an appearance yet. The villian will be original, and if you watch the end of my preview again, you'll get a peek at what he looks like.

Just hear me out

I'm always glad to see people posting films based on great works of literature. There were two things you did NOT need to do. The first was Dialogue. Look for example at the first Vampire Hunter INA. It was brilliantly done, however, First page material, but the second and third installments lost in popularity because they tried to add dialogue. Your ability to visually tell a story is intense and good as is. Dialogue was not necessary and I honestly feel it could have been alot better if you'd refrained from using any. Secondly: Ditch the music. You're trying to capture the horrible reality of war. Playing metal only detracts from that principle. something along the lines of a soft opera, perhaps even something like Moon light sonata would have been better. As another great Irish author, Yeats, put it, "War is violent, bloody, and graceful." Consider these few notes please. I'd like to see you make these changes and repost this.

Diazr2K responds:

???? there is no dialogue in my movie, what are you talking about. Well anyways, thanks for your review.
